Back from laziness..

Image
H ey guys! Well, its been a long lazy journey since I did my last workout and wrote my last blog. Hoping to use my rusty brains in the right frame of mind, which would make some sense outta my lazy journey. Jotting down things that I want to express..! Let's see..! Shall start with the toughest thing after I had the longest break ever.. I guess it was the mental preparation to convince myself that I've to get back to my schedule of Crossfit and mind it no break! I was fairly able to do that just before the registration for CrossFit open began, now I knew that I was terribly outta shape for participation, nevertheless, I did register but  had no clue of how fast I would be able to get fit for it. I began training just 2 weeks before the open with the most basic WOD: 5 rounds of: 20 burpees with break of 1 min This seems to be quite easy but gets the hell outta you. You add 5 reps to each set as days go by, this is the best full body movement &am

Do you Warm-Up?

Sup guys! Hope you have been trying to enjoy the Summer. It's a killa this year...! Summer has been crazy & I don't know why is it on heat... Hahaha... Twisted mind back there... Well this time I'm here to bore you all with my antics unlike the earlier ones... Lets go back to our childhood, when activity, kept us active... Childhood has been the best moment of our lives... You'll must be wondering my blogs name is "Do you Warm-Up?" and I'm talking crap bout childhood and stuff.. Well, I've been wondering for quite sometime that things which I do now at this age was quite easily done when I was small. Now many things come into our minds when we try to think logically, firstly we are getting older. A rough guess would be around 90% of the people would think bout the age factor. Frankly, this shit doesn't have to do anything with age. Most of us would still be guessing how does it relate to "Do you Warm-Up?" I would say Warm-up

Hi Guys! B een away for a while… Actually more than a while… M ost of u’ll must have thought that Canute ain’t gonna write anymore... Well, here I’m coming up with something new… T his blog was originally gonna be me sharing how my 2017 went & blah blah blah… A nd then suddenly I came across a really interesting question lately… Which made me ask myself why? What is Crossfit, Yoga & Bodybuilding? W ell, hope you all have read my “First Step to CrossFit” . If yes, you all are clear about CrossFit. If No, here’s the direct link to the page “ https://sapcrossfit.blogspot.in/2017/05/first-step-to-crossfit.html ” Let’s start with the most relaxing nature… Y oga: This the definition as per Google “A Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practised for health and relaxation.” To put it a box, perfect way to relax your mind & body. Now some

H i Guys! H ope you all doing well! Have been away for quite some time now. I don’t know if you all find my blogs interesting, let’s figure out if you all like what I write or the way I try to put thoughts forward. I believe by now you would know that I do have some knowledge about the things I write! Well, this is still just bits & part of what Crossfit is all about. In this blog I would conclude the 9 Foundational movements. Believe me these foundational movements got the hell outta me. Everything when seen seems to be very easy to perform & pretty cool. When I first started my Crossfit journey everything I would see was quite easy. But, when I actually did a particular movement I realised this S*** is way tougher than I thought it would be. It’s rightly said you need to be crazy to perform such high intensity workouts. Craziness goes to the extent of “Mental Illness”. You would start loving the feeling about screwing yourself daily. Hahaha... Well after all i

Overhead Squats (OHS) - Stability, Mobility & Strenght

Image
Overhead Squats (OHS) T he overhead squat is a great exercise— but do you know how this movement is useful to us? It helps us promote mobility, stability & strength of our entire body. Let’s find out how? The overhead squat has gotten some good press lately because of CrossFit. You would probably have a liking towards performing an Overhead Squat because: 1.    It’s Hard 2.    It looks cool H owever, would not recommend to add this movement in your regimen just because you want to look bad-ass. I f you find yourself at the bottom of an overhead squat and suddenly wonder, "Why the hell am I doing this?" you're asking yourself a really good question. T he Overhead Squat is majorly used as a mobility-training device. The strength carryover it has to other lifts like the snatch, back squat, front squat & overhead press is negligible. So, if would think you’re doing them to get your legs stronger, they won’t work like you think they will. However, the overhead squ

Squats - Foundational Movement

Squat W hen we come to think of Squats, all we hear is “This is wrong!” I keep wondering how everyone can have a different form to perform a squat… Are there really different forms or everyone just perform their own & believe this is the right form! Let’s try & understand this myth of “This is wrong!” I’ve come to the below conclusion after trying to understand what & how shall a Squat be done? F irstly, many of us consider squat to be a “leg” exercise, it’s really a full body movement that works just every muscle group in the body. S econdly, it mimics a ton of natural movement patterns in everyday life.  In my opinion, squats are the most useful exercise we can do when it comes to strength training. Gain strength or lose weight, squats are one of the fastest ways to get there. My advice to beginners, Never fear! Let’s get to know Squats in a better manner. Why squat? S quats are one of the most foundational functional movements in our lives. We all have been sq
